Therapeutic Wellness Treatments
My interest in holistic therapies started as a child when my mother had a reflexology book and would sit working on my feet when I was unwell, she didn’t know much about it but it instilled an interest and love of natural health. I began my training over 20 years ago, and I have never looked back. I love being an instrument in facilitating healing, relaxation and an overall sense of well-being in my clients.
The emotional balance that bodywork provides can often be just as vital and valuable as the more tangible physical benefits. The more we stress, the more our muscles tense up and it can become increasingly difficult to relax them.
Studies show that massage therapy can lower the stress hormone cortisol, and increase serotonin and dopamine (our happy, feel-good hormones).
On any given day, a relaxation massage is one of the most calming gifts we can give our over-stressed selves.
More people than ever before are adding massage therapies as a routine part of their lifestyle, using it to relieve stress and pain, lower blood pressure, promote healthy sleep, increase circulation and flexibility and boost the immune system. Experts say that 90% of disease is stress related.
